JAMMU, July 30: Taking the mission of “Green J&K” forward and setting the ball rolling for monsoon plantation in Jammu Region and to mark the 72nd Van-Mahotsav, Dr Mohit Gera, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, J&K today kick-started a plantation drive in Primary Health Centre Mansar wherein a variety of trees were planted including Chinar, Arjun, Guava, Mango, Begonia. While planting saplings Dr Gera said that the ongoing season is the best time for plantation of saplings and more such plantation drives should take place. The drive was organized by Jammu Forest Division, Jammu wherein representatives of PRIs including Dina Nath Bhagat, BDC Chairperson, Sangita Ajrawat, Block Medical Officer Majalta, and Sunita Devi, Sarpanch Panchayat Halqa Mansar were present. During the plantation drive Sarvesh Rai, Addl Pr CCF, K Ramesh Kumar Chief Conservator of Forest, Samuel Changkija Conservator of Forest, Alok Mauraya DFO Jammu, Rushal Garg ACF I/C Range Officer Jindrah along with staff of forest department actively participated in the drive by planting trees. It was also resolved by all to take good care of these plants and beautification of landscaping to clean up the environment and make it dust free.
