Joint Director conducts tour of remote Panchayats of Dansal Sub-Division | | | EArly Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 01: Joint Director Agriculture Extension, Jammu, Sh Bal Krishan Chandan along with team of officers conducted tour of remote areas of Dansal Sub-Division today. The officers interacted with the farmers and PRI members at Sangar, Challana and Ponthal villages following all the precautions and guidelines of COVID-19. Interacting with the farmers group on the occasion Shri B. K. Chandan stressed on adoption of latest technological interventions including Integrated Farming, Organic Farming, Protected Cultivation, Adoption of Farm Mechanization to reduce labour dependency. He stressed on taking various control measures for checking the spread of congress grass and lantana camera on road sides, fallow and uncultivated lands and also through plantation of fruit, fodder and medicinal value plants/crops. Subject Matter Specialist, Regional Level, Jammu Sh J. C Raina on the occasion spoke on the various steps for doubling the farmers income through reducing cost of cultivation, Vegetable Cultivation, Mushroom Growing, Apiculture, Cattle/Poultry Rearing under IFS, Vermicomposting, Cultivation of Pulses, Oilseeds and Fodder Crops. He also elaborated on the norms and guidelines of various farmers welfare schemes and programmes under implementation. Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer Dansal Sh Prem Singh Manhas on the occasion asked the farmers to immediately complete the formalities for obtaining Kisan Credit Cards and linage with PMKISAN for 100% coverage. He said that department is promoting machinery under Aatamnirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and Sub-Mission on Agriculture Machinery (SMAM) and farmers should avail subsidy after completion of simple set of documents. Representations regarding public grievances have been received by the Joint Director Agriculture Extension regarding menace of wild animals and provision of facilities for animal and human health care. Earlier Agriculture Extension Officer, KP Manwal Dr Vishal Raina welcomed the visiting team and apprised the Joint Director Extension about achievements of various farming schemes under implementation in the areas. Sh Anil Sharma Sarpanch spoke on various problems of farming community and thanked the visiting team for reaching Ponthal after 1.5 hours on foot journey. Later while returning Joint Director also interacted with the farmers/PRI members of Surinser Pachayat led by Sarpanch Sh Bodh Raj. Sh Vinod Kumar, Pawan Dev Singh and Sh Sanjeev Sharma Agriculture Extension Assistants of the local Pachayats were also present on the occasion. |
