CF urges admin to ensure emergency credit facilities for MSMEs | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 1: Citizens’ Forum (CF) welcomed the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman when she said banks cannot refuse credit to MSMEs under the emergency credit facility and any refusal should be reported. In a statement issued here today, Citizens’ Forum president RK Chadha said that however, in J&K UT bankers have been denying this facility to small businesses and MSMEs, with irrelevant rules and regulations. Units are closed due to lockdown and Covid threat and have become penny less in the absence of any business. Chadha said on the request of many such unit holders, Loveleen Chadha, a woman entrepreneur wrote a letter to the Finance Minister wherein she mentioned that under these circumstances do we have to beg for emergency loan from bankers to keep our house and employees in working conditions. She also requested to the chief secretary and LG of J&K UT to see that bankers do not refuse the loan as 3 months further moratorium is in the offing. But bankers just ignore and avoid the requests.
