JAMMU, Aug 1: Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts (JKCCA), Jammu is going to organize an Online Art Exhibition of the drawings and paintings of veteran artist V S Rahi of New Delhi, on 9th August, 2020 to celebrate his 92nd birth anniversary.
It would be great and an inspiring experience for the new generation artists to have a glimpse of the fifty art works including drawings, paintings and B&W paintings in typical style of V S Rahi, the great artist of the country still active in the field of creativity, even at the age of 92 years.
Born at Kharela, Hamirpur (UP), V S Rahi has studied under Padamshree Ramgopal Vijavargiyanand, Padamshree Nandlal Bose, Vishva Bharti, Shantiniketan (West Bengal). He has done Diploma in Fine Arts & Crafts, Diploma in Fine Arts & Handicrafts, Rajsthan School of Art, Jaipur; Special Advanced Training in Mural. He has displayed his art at national and international levels including displays in Japan, London, Sarjah, America, Bulgaria and Mexico, 1996.
Rahi has contributed a lot in the process of promoting art through his contribution at various capacities at different levels. He has been the Advisor of Jammu & Kashmir Centre for Creative Arts, Jammu, Ex- Vice- President, All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society (AIFACS), New Delhi; Senior Advisor- Art Syllabus Committee, Central Board of School Education (CBSE).
