BNGH successfully conducts Laparoscopic surgery | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 13: The Bee Enn General Hospital Jammu has claimed to have performed a rare laparoscopic reconstructive urological surgery (laparoscopic pyeloplasty) on a 2 months old baby. A BNGH spokesman said that the baby hailing from Akhnoor was diagnosed as a case of hydronephrosis of left kidney. The parents shifted the baby to BNGH for advanced treatment and diagnosis. Dr. Rajnish Kumar, super specialist Pediatric and Neonatal Surgeon evaluated the baby and it turned out to be a case of left side Pelviureteric junction obstruction of kidney. The kidney function was significantly reduced and early surgical intervention was required to save the kidney. The challenge to operate such a small baby of 6kg body weight by laparoscopic technique was accepted by Dr. Rajnish Kumar. Anaesthesia was provided by Dr. Anuradha Bali, pediatric anaesthesiologist. The surgery lasted two and half hours and postoperative care in pediatric ICU was provided meticulously by Dr Anumodan Gupta, newborn and intensive care specialist and his team to perfection. The baby was discharged 3 days after surgery in excellent condition. |
