| Police recovers illegally sold govt ration; driver, dealer arrested with vehicles | | |

Jammu, Aug 22: Police on Saturday arrested a driver along with dealer and vehicles for illegally selling government ration in Ranbir Singh Pura area here on city outskirts.
Police spokesman here said that 272 bags of flour and rice meant for poor people were seized as they were illegally being sold by ration dealers in collaboration with officials of Food and Supply Department. A team of Police station RS Pura lead by SHO R S Pura Jai Pal Sharma, arrested Sourabh Gupta of Dablear and Krishan Lal of Jinder Milu, R S Pura. Police said that both were caught red handed loading and disposing the ration bags which had the stamp mark of PDS on them while as search for one more dealer Rashpal Singh a resident of Khour is underway. Some empty bags with CAPD stamp mark were also seized from the scene of crime. Subsequently Vehicles used by these ration dealers to transport and load the ration on their choicest locations, were also seized, police said.
