IITians develop app for lockdown-hit JEE/ NEET aspirants
8/23/2020 10:03:40 PM
EArly Times Report

Srinagar, Aug 23: Three Valley-based youths, who are also IITians, have developed an app called ‘FILO’ for JEE/NEET aspirants. It will help the aspirants in getting their problems solved through video calls.
The app works even if the Internet speed is slow, and its developers are all-time available to take the queries of aspirants.
“While studying, students face problems in either understanding the concepts or in solving questions. The doubts are not cleared in real time, because they don’t have access to teachers at home. They either have to wait for their next class or have to search online. To overcome these problems, the alumni of IITs developed the app. Through the app, the doubts are solved in real time from experts for free,” said M Athar, one of the developers of the app.
Athar and Faisal Rafiq, both are from IIT-Kharagpur, and Huzaib Ul Hassan is from IIT-Roorkee.
“Filo works very well on 2G, and is totally ad-free and secured. Our tutors are from IIT-Kharagpur, IIT-Kanpur, IIT-Dhanbad, IIT-Guwahati, DTU, NIT Srinagar, GMC, Nilratan Sircar Medical College, Kolkata. At present, the students can clear their doubt between 10 am and 6 pm. In future, we will extend the timing till 10 pm,” said Athar.
He said the response to the app had been good, and over 500 students had enrolled in a week after the launch of the app. “In a week, we have 500+ students enrolled in our app, and to date more than 1,000 questions have been asked. The app ensures complete anonymity of students, and the students’ camera remains off by default. We have received amazing reviews and feedback from the students. The app helps students to get in touch with people who’ve already aced highly competitive exams of national level,” he said.
