MGNREGA employees strike renders labourers jobless | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: Jammu and Kashmir administration maintaining silence over the ongoing strike of over 4500 MGNREGA employees has rendered thousands of labourers jobless across the Union Territory. These labourers include the non-local work force that had returned to J&K from different parts of the country after the COVID lockdown was lifted. As per the details available with Early Times, the strike of MGNREGA employees in J&K UT completed 11 days today, the important government run schemes including MGNREGA, SBM, house to all under PMAY, 14th FC and other important developmental works under execution through Rural Development Department have come to stand still particularly the doors for Persons Days have been shut. The PDs are a part of the scheme to provide job to unemployed labourers including those had become jobless due to ongoing COVID 19 pandemic.
