SAMBA, Aug 26: The newly constructed house under PMGAY Scheme at village Dasaiyan of Ghagwal of district Samba has reportedly collapsed due landslide which was caused due to heavy rains which lashed out recently and left the household members to take shelter in nearby government school building. As per reports the distressed head of the family Parkash Singh son of Jamail Singh had got house under PMGAY and got damaged due to landslide. Not only this, even his Kaccha house also got damaged in a landslide. The House was built on a small hillock and due to lack of protection around the elevated land which lead to landslide. The house was also almost complete under PMGAY when the disaster struck the house and destroyed the building. The family was forced to take refuge in local government school. “Due to heavy rains, the landslide took place which developed big cracks on the walls posing threat to members living in the house. He appealed to the administration for immediate help,” said Parkash Singh. |
