| Heavy rain, flash flood damage huge property in Billawar, Mehreen | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: Due to heavy rain and flash flood Wednesday morning huge lose of property has been reported from Billawar and Marheen areas of district Kathua.
According to sources a large number of residential houses damaged and major land slides have been reported in Tehsil-billawer and marheen of district-Kathua.
In Katle panchayat’s ward no. 7residential houses damage of 45 families and around 220 people have been affected. In Satheri panchayat residential houses of two families were damaged. Jannu panchayat , Sukrala, residential houses damaged of 18 families.
Billawar to katli road, length-19 km damaged.
Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma Former minister took up the matter with DDC kathua O P Bhagat, SSP Kathua, ADC Billawar Shri Sudesh Sharma,Xen pmgsy Billawar and Flood control Kathua Tehsildar concern and SHO for immediate necessary action.
Also asked for shifting of affected families to safer places and provide adequate compensation. And also request for permanent protection of affected habitations.
