JKTJAC expresses resentment against Education Deptt, alleges harassment of ReTs | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 26: An emergency online meeting of Jammu Kashmir Teachers' Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) held today under the leadership of UT President Vinod Sharma to discuss the burning issues related to the harassment of teachers (3rd teachers, RRETs, Teachers Grade II /III ) appointed under ReT Scheme. While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma on behalf of all JKTJAC leaders showed strong resentment against some officers in the education department who are hell bent to harass ReT cadre on one pretext or on the other by violating court judgemets and govt orders. He said that yesterday CEO Ramban issued order of repatriation of RRETs (transferred vide Govt order No. 469 Dated 25.06.2014) which is clear-cut harassment of these teachers and will never be tolerated at any cost. He further said that even then Chief Justice of High Court in 2016 gave a verdict that ReT Teachers after regularization are as good as other General Line Teachers and they can be transferred within the district like other teachers and since then we have been urging the department to frame transfer policy by implementing the court judgemet. But the fact is that some officers in the department are not projecting the clear picture with higher authorities and harassing the teachers appointed under ReT scheme by calling them school specific teachers where as there is no such order regarding the same. He appealed the Lieutenant Governor, Advisor to LG and Principal Secretary School Education to intervene in this regard and identify all such officers in the education department who are creating environment of confrontation between the teachers and the education department and forcing them to adopt the path of agitation. |
