Jammu, Sept 3: The Deputy Commissioner, State taxes, Enforcement wing Jammu Samba range having additional charge of Lakhanpur under the instructions of Commissioner, State taxes, P.K. Bhat and under the supervision of Additional Commissioner, State Taxes (Administration and Enforcement), Rifat Kohli imposed heavy penalties on tax evaders during the month of August, 2020. The Deputy Commissioner, state taxes, Enforcement wing Jammu-samba range having additional charge of Lakhanpur Sanjay Gupta intercepted vehicles carrying goods at Lakhanpur, Samba, Rajouri and Poonch during the month of August, 2020. The vehicles carrying goods without proper tax invoices were detained and imposed penalty to the tune of around Rs 34 lakhs at Lakhanpur, 1.5 lakhs at Samba and Rs 1.39 lakhs in Rajouri Poonch Range. It is pertinent to mention here that few dealers having a turnover more than 40 lakhs were directed to register themselves at concerned Office of State Taxes Officers. "The DC appealed to all the stakeholders to transport the goods strictly in accordance with the provisions laid down in GST act and also carry the the requisite documents i.e. tax invoices and e-way. It is pertinent to mention here that around 45951 e-way bills were verified during the month. The inspection teams included Assistant Commissioner Ajeet Singh, STO, Enforcement wing Rajouri-poonch range Ashiq Rafiq Malik, STO's Gurpinder Singh, Kaka Ram, and Sunil Kumar posted at Lakhanpur and STO Manav Sharma posted at Samba Inspector Vikas Sharma, Sushil sharma , Sub-Inspectors and other officials of the department. |
