JAMMU, Sept 3: Leading a plantation drive in his constituency, senior BJP leader and former MLA of Bishnah Assembly segment, Ashwini Sharma planted saplings of different varieties at village Kotli Charka, Bishnah. A plantation programme was organized at village Charka wherein vice president, Municipal Committee Bishnah, Jai Bharat, former Sarpanch Surinder Singh Bittu, BJP Kissan Morcha president Shamsher Singh Manhas, Kuldeep Sodi, Panch Mittu Sharma, Vijay Saini and Prem Sharma were also present. Speaking on the occasion, ex-MLA Ashwini Sharma said that people should plant trees in their surroundings in order to save the environment, adding that this plantation drive was initiated keeping in view the degradation of the environment. He said that so far more than 9000 saplings of different varieties have been planted across Bishnah and soon the target of planting 10000 saplings will be achieved. Sharma pledged that he will plant more and more saplings continuously in every nook and corner of his constituency so as to make it green and clean. He said that his mission is to aware people to know the significance of plants and trees. |
