All LPG distributors to go on one-day token strike on Sept 7 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Sept 6: An emergency meeting of All LPG Distributors Belonging to Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd was held here today. In the meeting, it has been decided that in view of unfair harassment of the dealership by the Crime Branch of Jammu & Kashmir Police related to release of Prime Minister Ujwala Yogna (PMUY) free LPG connections, the dealerships of Jammu Province (All Three Oil Companies) shall observe one day token strike by stopping all operation and refills distributions on Monday i.e, 7th September 2020. A spokesman of the distributors body disclosed that despite strictly following the PMO and Oil Companies Guidelines in release of PMUY Connections, The crime branch -Jammu & Kashmir Police has been harassing the dealers repeatedly without any reason thereby affecting our routine supplies to the consumers especially during these difficult time of Covid -19. The Spokesman also informed that a memorandum to this proposed token strike was duly delivered to the oil companies, Food and Supply Department and other concerned agencies, but no response has been received and as such we are forced to take this Extreme step to highlight our grievances. It was also shared that unless a suitable Response and Redressal is received from the administration and crime branch, we shall be forced to go for an indefinite strike from next week. It is also highlighted that the body understands the inconvenience caused to our valued customers which will be highly regretted.
