Lecturers' Forum demands Ex- Gratia Compensation for Corona warrior | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 6: All J&K Plus Two Lecturers' Forum was held through teleconferencing under the leadership of its President Deepak Sharma wherein he demanded Ex- Gratia Compensation to government employees in event of unfortunate loss of life while performing Covid-19 management duties. Deepak Sharma said that like other government employees engaged in Covid-19 pandemic containment measures , the teaching community including Plus Two Lecturers are also actively engaged in various duties including Nodal officers/ assistants in Quarantine centers and performing Magisterial duties as well apart from door to door Health Survey, distribution of Mid Day Meal Ration and Home Assignments and various other academic/non academic activities and are thus equally vulnerable to contamination with Corona virus. Forum demanded Ex- Gratia Compensation of Rs One crore in case of unfortunate death of Government Employees including those from teaching Community while performing Covid-19 Containment duties. Referring to sad and untimely demise of Jindal Padha Sr. Lecturer (Mathematics) Govt HSS Basholi (Kathua) who got infected with the virus while in line of duty as Nodal Officer in COVID-19 management, Deepak Sharma demanded that the death of the officer be taken at par with other corona warriors across the country who have given their lives while discharging their duties in Covid -19 pandemic related assignments and urged Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor UT of J&K to grant Ex-Gratia Compensation to the family members of , dedicated officer and an exemplary teacher.
