REASI, Sep 6: Demanding adequate compensation to the victims of flash flood and heavy rains, Advocate Mohd Sarwar Mir said that hilly areas of Reasi district had been badly affected due to the nature’s fury. Addressing a press conference here today, State Legal Advisor, International Human Rights Council J&K (UT) and District President Reasi, Global Peace Organization, Mohd Sarwar Mir said that several areas in Sub Division Mahore, comprising of Block Mahore, Block Gulab Garh, Block Chasana, Sub-Division Dharmari comprising of Block Thuroo, Block Arnas, Block Jij, Block Thakrakot have suffered huge loss of life and property which requires to be compensated, many aggrieved families are required to be given relief as early as possible besides seasonal crops of the farmers of hilly areas is damaged in the rains. He said that several roads are also damaged and vehicular accidents occurred due to slides on the roads. Mir while inviting the attention of LG Manoj Sinha and District Administration Reasi headed by Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib, urged them to grant compensation for the losses suffered by the general public. |
