Shiv Sena demands govt jobs for shelling victims | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 9: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir unit raised their voice in support of the demand to confer martyr status along with government job to the next kin of family members, who were killed in cross border firing. Several leaders including working President, Ashwini Gupta, Sr. Vice President, Harsh Gupta and RS Pura President, Sanjeev Sudan met the people of several border areas including RS Pura and Meera Sahab to inquire about the problems they were facing. They visited the areas on the direction of party President Manish Sahni. Ashwini Gupta termed the people living along LOC as the warriors of the country and said that these are the people who have stood on the front against the unarmed enemy country. He called to confer martyr status to those who were the targets of cross-border firing. Meanwhile, Harsh Gupta said that the community bunkers which were to be constructed to protect the residents from cross-border firing, have been stuck in most of the areas. “The bunkers which are being told to be ready have not been completed and the ones which stand completed are also in poor condition,” Gupta said and added that the continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan due to the ongoing tension with China has become a source of trouble for the border-ripped areas. He demanded the completion of all the community bunkers for borders villagers as soon as possible. Dozens of youths joined the party on the occasion, influenced by Shiv Sena activism. Geeta Rani, Women wing President, RS Pura unit, administered the oath of service to society and the public while welcoming those who joined the party.
