| Horticulture Deptt kick starts backyard Horticulture plantation programme | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 11: The horticulture department of Bhalwal under the directions of chief horticulture officer Jammu Dr. Sarabjeet Singh kick started the flagship programme “Backyard Horticulture”under the scheme CAPEX at Government fruit plant nursery Garhi Mishriwala block Bhalwal.
SDM Jammu North Pawan Kotwal was the chief guest who formally inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion SDM appreciated the efforts of the horticulture department for initiating such fruitful programmes.He also impressed upon farmers to take full benefit of the departmental schemes to enhance their farm income thereby improving their standard of living. Chief Horticulture officer Jammu informed that under this programme at least three fruit plants amounting to ₹200 will be distributed to the farmers at 90% subsidy covering 1265 households in tehsil Bhalwal. DLSMS also demonstrated the cultural practices to be adopted while planting these fruit plants in their houses backyard.
Horticulture development officer Bhalwal Dr. Amit Saraf also impressed upon farmers to plant these fruit plants in their houses backyard so as to preserve environment and increase green cover.
Among others naib tehsildar Shezad,sarpanch Er Pallavi ,naib sarpanches and panches of panchayat Mishriwala were also present on the occasion. The vote of thanks was presented by HDO Dr Sushma Devi.
During the programme all SOPs of COVID-19 were followed and the same was appreciated by SDM. |
