| DC hands over Rs 10.76 lakh cheque to accident victim | | | RAJOURI, Sept 11: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Friday handed over a cheque of Rs.10.76 Lakh as compensation to Mohammad Saleem, who suffered 80 percent disability in a road accident last year.
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Angrez Singh, was present on the occasion.
It is worth mentioning here that Mohd Saleem is a resident of Ward No.04 of Rajouri tehsil.
He was a driver by profession and sole earner of the family. The compensation amount paid to the victim was settled by the Labour Court Rajouri.
The Deputy Commissioner while speaking on the occasion has appealed to all the construction workers associated with BRO and other private and Government construction agencies to get themselves enrolled and avail various benefits being provided by the Labour Department for their welfare under JKBOCWW scheme.
