SRINAGAR, Nov 2: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 92 percent as 623 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. The union territory reported 385 new cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 95,710. The death toll reached 1490 following eight fresh deaths. Jammu district reported 108 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 71 cases, Baramulla district 69 cases, Kupwara district 32 cases, Budgam district 16 cases, Pulwama district 15 cases, Ganderbal district 14 cases, Bandipora and Shopian districts 12 cases each, Anantnag district eight cases, Ramban district seven cases, Kathua district four cases, Rajouri, Poonch and Samba districts three cases each, Kulgam, Udhampur, Doda and Kishtwar districts two cases each. Srinagar district reported two fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by a death each in Jammu, Baramulla, Pulwama, Kulgam, Ramban and Kishtwar districts. So far 991 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 499 such deaths have taken place. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 385 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 134 from Jammu division and 251 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 95,710. Also eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 623 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 245 from Jammu Division and 378 from Kashmir Division. Out of 95,710 positive cases, 6,080 are active positive, 88,140 have recovered and 1,490 have died; 499 in Jammu division and 991 in Kashmir division. Out of 23, 43,543 test results available, 22, 47,833 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 59,752 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,765 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6,080 in isolation and 45,588 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 90,829 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 19,592 positive cases, 1,354 active positive, 17,878 recovered, 360 deaths; Baramulla has 6,162 positive cases, 1,394 active positive, 4,622 recovered, 146 deaths; Budgam has 6,038 positive cases, 260 active positive, 5,684 recovered, 94 deaths; Pulwama has 4,700 positive cases, 211 active positive, 4,406 recovered, 83 deaths; Kupwara has 4,412 positive cases, 413 active positive, 4,026 recovered, 73 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,255 positive cases, 190 active positive, 3,991 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 4,059 positive cases, 177 active positive, 3,836 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,586 positive cases, 195 active positive, 3,358 recovered, 33 deaths; Kulgam has 2,492 positive cases, 89 active positive, 2,356 recovered, 47 deaths and Shopian has 2,220 positive cases, 92 active positive, 2,093 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 17,784 positive cases, 696 active positive, 16,829 recovered, 259 deaths; Rajouri has 3,204 positive cases, 56 active positive, 3,101 recovered, 47 deaths; Udhampur has 2,731 positive cases, 115 active positive, 2,584 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,663 positive cases, 102 active positive, 2,515 recovered, 46 deaths; Kathua has 2,457 positive cases, 60 active positive, 2,366 recovered, 31 deaths. “Poonch has 2,261 positive cases, 174 active positive, 2,065 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,179 positive cases, 275 active positive, 1,879 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,926 positive cases, 62 active positive, 1,849 recovered, 15 deaths; Ramban has 1,608 positive cases, 90 active positive, 1,504 recovered, 14 deaths and Reasi has 1,281 positive cases, 75 active positive, 1,198 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 95,710 positive cases in J&K, 9,814 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
