SRINAGAR, Nov 8: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 555 new cases of Corona Virus today following which the total number of positive cases reached 98,892. With five fresh deaths the death toll due to the virus reached 1533. Srinagar district reported 122 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 95 cases, Ganderbal district 46 cases, Baramulla district 42 cases, Budgam district 40 cases, Bandipora district 24 cases, Poonch district 21 cases, Udhampur district 20 cases, Pulwama district 19 cases, Anantnag district 17 cases, Doda district 16 cases, Kathua district 15 cases, Kupwara, Samba and Kishtwar districts 13 cases each, Kulgam district 12 cases, Shopian, Rajouri and Ramban districts seven cases each and Reasi district six cases. Jammu district reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Srinagar and Kupwara districts in the Kashmir valley. In the Kashmir valley 1015 people have lost their lives to the deadly virus while as in the Jammu division 518 people have died due to the virus. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 555 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 213 from Jammu division and 342 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 98,892. Also five COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and two from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 456 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 171 from Jammu Division and 285 from Kashmir Division. Out of 98,892 positive cases, 5,678 are active positive, 91,681 have recovered and 1,533 have died; 518 in Jammu division and 1,015 in Kashmir division. Out of 24, 86,241 test results available, 23, 87,349 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 67,810 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,363 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,678 in isolation and 42,630 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 02,606 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 20,413 positive cases, 1,391 active positive, 18,647 recovered, 375 deaths; Baramulla has 6,493 positive cases, 966 active positive, 5,378 recovered, 149 deaths; Budgam has 6,256 positive cases, 306 active positive, 5,857 recovered, 95 deaths; Pulwama has 4,779 positive cases, 191 active positive, 4,505 recovered, 83 deaths; Kupwara has 4,670 positive cases, 451 active positive, 4,145 recovered, 74 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,310 positive cases, 190 active positive, 4,045 recovered, 75 deaths; Bandipora has 4,144 positive cases, 1,801 active positive, 3,918 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,736 positive cases, 267 active positive, 3,434 recovered, 35 deaths; Kulgam has 2,521 positive cases, 83 active positive, 2,390 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,259 positive cases, 104 active positive, 2,120 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 18,370 positive cases, 627 active positive, 17,474 recovered, 269 deaths; Rajouri has 3,266 positive cases, 92 active positive, 3,126 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 2,844 positive cases, 185 active positive, 2,627 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,720 positive cases, 102 active positive, 2,570 recovered, 48 deaths; Kathua has 2,518 positive cases, 62 active positive, 2,423 recovered, 33 deaths. “Poonch has 2,311 positive cases, 99 active positive, 2,190 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,223 positive cases, 90 active positive, 2,108 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,037 positive cases, 128 active positive, 1894 recovered, 15 deaths; Ramban has 1,687 positive cases, 100 active positive, 1,569 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,333 positive cases, 64 active positive, 1,261 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 98,892 positive cases in J&K, 10,035 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
