Rebel NC leader to throw party for Abdullahs, to be spokesman again
11/8/2020 11:54:09 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Nov 8: A senior leader of the National Conference, who was having strained relations with the party for the last few months, is all set to throw a party for the Abdullah family as he is set to get back his position as the NC spokesman.
Sources said after the creation of the so called Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, the relations between the “rebel” NC leader and the party have significantly improved.
Sources said the leader from Budgam district who was expected to quit the party over his disagreement with the party over its stand on the abrogation of the special status, has changed his mind.
Sources said he has returned among the close aides of NC President Omar Abdullah and also frequently interacts with him.
Sources said some of the close aides of Omar Abdullah have told the leader that he should host a Wazwan party for them.
“He is going to host wazwan soon,” said a source.
He said the party would be thrown at the Budgam residence of the leader and that both Dr Farooq Abdullah and his son, along with their close aides would be invited for the feast.
Sources said the date would be fixed by Dr Abdullah, who looks ahead to utilize the day to also have a tour of the Budgam district.
“The Wazwan will be part of the Budgam tour,” said the source.
The said leader is also set to get back his title of party spokesman soon.
It is pertinent to mention that the said leader had resigned from being the spokesman for the party and had been telling media that all the statements he was making were his personal and not of the NC.
“But now the things will be same again soon,” said a senior leader on the condition of anonymity.
Despite repeated attempts the said leader was not available for comments.
