Civil society members honour war widows | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 11: A total of three Veer Naris were adopted, in a simple ceremony coordinated by Giat Nandan Jain, President SS Jain Sabha Talab Tilloo , Jammu. Brig Harcharan Singh was felicitated by the members of civic society for his yeoman, historic and praise worthy service rendered by him during his tenure of 5 years as Director Sainik Welfare Department Brig Gurmeet Singh Shan while thanking the members of the social organizations for their efforts exhorted others also to join in the noble cause. He also added that he would like to build upon the past initiatives and take action for further improving the welfare avenues for the ESM, War Widows and their dependents. President, Home for the Aged and infirm, State Commissioner J&K Bharat Scouts and Guide and Advisor/Patron of many NGOs Sh ID Soni in his address narrated about the duties /responsibilities of civil society towards the Army men, who laid down their lives for the welfare of their countrymen, at the cost of their families. Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu graced the occasion and praises the civil society for their work. He extended his venerations, enconmiuels and deferences for bringing innovated practices to give a new shape to the Sainik Welfare Deptt by involving NGOs in this noble caise. Vikram Randhawa Ex MLC also addressed the gathering and appreciated the noble work done by Brig Harcharan Singh. |
