Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 19: With much pomp and show, Jagpreet Kour, Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress on Thursday filed her nomination form as the candidate of Indian National Congress for upcoming District Development Council elections from Ramgarh -C territorial constituency in Samba district. Uday Bhanu Chib, President of J&K Youth Congress and other party workers were present on the occasion. Accompanied by a number of Sarpanchs and Panchs of various Panchayats, a number of Congress workers, and hundreds of social activists along with a massive participation of people who were seen raising slogans of Congress, Jagpreet Kour reached the office of returning officer by Thursday noon and filed her nomination papers. DDC elections will take place in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in eight phases starting from November 28. Thanking party leadership Rajni Patil, Sudheer Sharma, Shakeel Khan, G.A. Mir, Krishna Allavaru, Srinivas B.V, Raman Bhalla, Manmohan Singh, Amarpreet Lali , Harsimrit kour,Uday Chib and the workers of Congress party for the belief entrusted in her, Jagpreet Kour said that she is elated on being given the chance by the party to serve people in the righteous way. "The people of my area have always shown faith in the policies of Congress. I am sure their endearing belief and love for me and the party will continue in District Development Council elections," she said in her brief address to her supporters, to a roaring applause from those in attendance. |
