SRINAGAR, Nov 19: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 93.14 percent as 565 virus affected people were discharged from different hospitals today. The total positive cases reached 1, 04,715 with 560 new cases and the death toll reached 1,618 following five fresh deaths. Srinagar district reported 130 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district 95 cases, Udhampur district 36 cases, Baramulla district 35 cases, Kupwara district 33 cases, Budgam and Kishtwar districts 29 cases each, Samba district 25 cases, Bandipora district 23 cases, Ganderbal district 20 cases, Pulwama district 18 cases, Doda district 17 cases, Anantnag district 14 cases, Ramban district 13 cases, Kathua and Reasi districts 12 cases each, Kulgam district six cases, Shopian and Rajouri districts five cases each and Poonch district three cases. Srinagar, Kupwara, Rajouri, Kathua and Reasi districts each reported a fresh COVID-19 death in the past 24 hours or so. In the Kashmir valley 1,070 people have died due to the virus so far while as in Jammu division the number of virus related deaths is 548. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 560 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 247 from Jammu division and 313 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 04,715. Also five COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and two from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 565 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 185 from Jammu Division and 380 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 04,715 positive cases, 5,560 are active positive, 97,537 have recovered and 1,618 have died; 548 in Jammu division and 1,070 in Kashmir division. Out of 27, 29,618 test results available, 26, 24,903 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 51,735 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 19,216 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,560 in isolation and 42,789 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 82,552 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 21,950 positive cases, 1,548 active positive, 20,000 recovered, 402 deaths; Baramulla has 7,088 positive cases, 581 active positive, 6,348 recovered, 159 deaths; Budgam has 6,577 positive cases, 265 active positive, 6,214 recovered, 98 deaths; Kupwara has 4,984 positive cases, 513 active positive, 4,392 recovered, 79 deaths; Pulwama has 4,919 positive cases, 136 active positive, 4,697 recovered, 86 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,467 positive cases, 187 active positive, 4,204 recovered, 76 deaths; Bandipora has 4,296 positive cases, 163 active positive, 4,084 recovered, 49 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,032 positive cases, 302 active positive, 3693 recovered, 37 deaths; Kulgam has 2,563 positive cases, 73 active positive, 2,442 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,290 positive cases, 70 active positive, 2,184 recovered, 36 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 19,412 positive cases, 592 active positive, 18,535 recovered, 285 deaths; Rajouri has 3,339 positive cases, 84 active positive, 3,206 recovered, 49 deaths; Udhampur has 3,140 positive cases, 278 active positive, 2,826 recovered, 36 deaths; Doda has 2,873 positive cases, 141 active positive, 2680 recovered, 52 deaths; Kathua has 2,655 positive cases, 78 active positive, 2,542 recovered, 35 deaths. “Poonch has 2,362 positive cases, 82 active positive, 2,258 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,328 positive cases, 138 active positive, 2,164 recovered, 26 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,251 positive cases, 148 active positive, 2,087 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,793 positive cases, 115 active positive, 1,660 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,396 positive cases, 66 active positive, 1,321 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 04,715 positive cases in J&K, 10,455 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
