FFMA remembers Maharani Laxmi Bai, Indira Gandhi | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 19: Freedom Fighters Memorial Association (FFMA) on Thursday organised a function to celebrate the Birth Anniversary of Maharani Lakshmi Bhai, Jhansi Ki Rani and the iron lady and Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The function was held at Dogra Shaurya Sthal Ambhalla which was organised by Ved Gandotra, the Chairman of the Association and Rajiv Mahajan, Vice Chairman and RC Puri President of the Association. Candles were lit in the memory of the great ladies and floral tributes were paid to them, with garlanding with showers of the petals. The Chairman and the members highlighted the deeds of the Maharani Lakshmi Bhai who started the first freedom struggle against the British Rule. They also highlighted the life history of Indira Gandhi, who also proved herself in the war with Pakistan in 1971 and was the creator of Bangladesh. They also said that it was Gandhi who exhorted the countrymen to become self sufficient in every field with hard work. The members also remembered all the Martyrs and the freedom fighters and exhorted the countrymen to beware of the enemy within the country and work hard for the unity and prosperity of the nation and also do not fall prey to the religious and regional sentiments fight corruption, terrorism and poverty with hard hands. The prominent persons also present were Th. Karnail Chand, Rajinder Singh, Gajan Singh Khalsa, Sukhminder Singh Maini, Pritam Sharma, S.S Balwal, Prof. R.P Sharma, R.R.Raina, Ravinder Mittal, Rimple Singh, Parbhat Kapahi and others. |
