Jammu, Nov 24: Chandigarh University inaugurated Guru Nanak Chair for Studies in Universal Advancement, to honor the legacy and host more research studies based on the universal knowledge given by Shri Guru Nanak Devji, and its impact on gender equality, interfaith dialogue, environment, and socio-economic inclusivity. The chair was inaugurated in the august presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, global spiritual leader and founder of The Art of Living; Charanjit Singh Channi, Minister of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Employment Generation and Training, Cultural Affairs and Tourism, and Padma Shri Sant Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal j, Social Activist. Calling it an initiative close to his heart, global humanitarian and spiritual leader, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar spoke warmly of the teachings of Guru Nanak Devji, its depth, practicality and simplicity. "The highest knowledge is available here for every human being beyond the caste, class and or state of their lives," Gurudev said, "His knowledge sprung from his experience and that revolutionized the world. When he felt one with the light, he brought out that it is all truth and not illusion. This brought in a revolution. The offering of Guru Nanak Devji to the Bhartiya Darshan shastra (Indian philosphy) is unique and beautiful." |
