SRINAGAR, Nov 24: Following 495 more recoveries the COVID-19 recovered patients crossed the one lakh mark in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir and reached 1, 00,322 today. With 431 new cases the total number of positive cases reached 1, 07,330. The death toll reached 1651 with 10 deaths being reported in past 24 hours. Jammu district reported 122 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 84 cases, Udhampur district 37 cases, Pulwama district 19 cases, Baramulla and Ramban districts 18 cases each, Samba district 17 cases, Budgam and Kishtwar districts 16 cases each, Kupwara and Doda districts 14 cases each, Ganderbal district 12 cases, Poonch district 11 cases, Kathua district nine cases, Bandipora district seven cases, Reasi district six cases, Kulgam, Shopian and Rajouri districts three cases each and Anantnag district two cases. Srinagar district in the Kashmir valley reported three fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by a death each in Baramulla, Kulgam, Shopian, Jammu, Udhampur, Doda and Samba districts. In the Kashmir valley 1,085 people have died due to the virus so far while as the number of such deaths in Jammu division are 566. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 431 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 253 from Jammu division and 178 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 07,330. Also 10 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; four from Jammu division and six from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 495 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 220 from Jammu Division and 275 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 07,330 positive cases, 5,357 are active positive, 1, 00,322 have recovered and 1,651 have died; 566 in Jammu division and 1,085 in Kashmir division. Out of 28, 56,746 test results available, 27, 49,416 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 71,134 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 19,528 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,357 in isolation and 48,738 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 95,860 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 22,513 positive cases, 1,381 active positive, 20,724 recovered, 408 deaths; Baramulla has 7,277 positive cases, 446 active positive, 6,671 recovered, 160 deaths; Budgam has 6,744 positive cases, 293 active positive, 6352 recovered, 99 deaths; Kupwara has 5,090 positive cases, 513 active positive, 4,496 recovered, 81 deaths; Pulwama has 5,016 positive cases, 162 active positive, 4,768 recovered, 86 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,509 positive cases, 126 active positive, 4,306 recovered, 77 deaths; Bandipora has 4,350 positive cases, 173 active positive, 4,127 recovered, 50 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,116 positive cases, 225 active positive, 3,854 recovered, 37 deaths; Kulgam has 2,582 positive cases, 65 active positive, 2,467 recovered, 50 deaths and Shopian has 2,308 positive cases, 62 active positive, 2,209 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has19, 966 positive cases, 574 active positive, 19,100 recovered, 292 deaths; Rajouri has 3,384 positive cases, 97 active positive, 3,238 recovered, 49 deaths; Udhampur has 3,359 positive cases, 377 active positive, 2,939 recovered, 43 deaths; Doda has 2,984 positive cases, 182 active positive, 2,749 recovered, 53 deaths; Kathua has 2,696 positive cases, 71 active positive, 2,590 recovered, 35 deaths. “Samba has 2,391 positive cases, 157 active positive, 2,205 recovered, 29 deaths; Poonch has 2,382 positive cases, 76 active positive, 2,284 recovered, 22 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,370 positive cases, 194 active positive, 2,160 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,869 positive cases, 113 active positive, 1,738 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,424 positive cases, 70 active positive, 1,345 recovered, nine deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 07,330 positive cases in J&K, 10,615 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
