Teach BJP a lesson for ignoring border areas: Bhardwaj
11/26/2020 10:53:13 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 26: False promises held out by the BJP dispensations at the Centre and in Jammu and Kashmir and their dismal failure to deliver have led to the people of this border area facing immense hardships. Notwithstanding the tall promises such as doubling the income of the farmers and measures for the safety, security and economic survival of the people living in the border villages and towns, made by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi down to local BJP leaders, nothing has happened on ground.
Addressing an impressive rally, coinciding with the filing of nomination by Suman Jyoti as Congress nominee for DDC elections from Arnia block, senior party leader and member AICC, Mohinder Bhardwaj, Neeraj Kundan, National President NSUI and Bharat Bhushan popularly known as Bunty, who resigned from the BSP and joined Congress Party.
Bhardwaj said that the people of border areas are facing double hardships on account of unprovoked firing and ceasefire violations by Pakistan and the failure of the ruling dispensations to ameliorate their lot.
He said that the near absence of civic amenities and above all the missing much promised bunkers to protect the villagers from Pakistan firing, is a tell-tale story of official and ruling BJP's apathy.
He further said that by ignoring the interests of the patriotic people of these areas the BJP leadership has also exposed their hollow sloganeering about "desh bhakti" and nationalism.
While appealing to the people to vote for the Congress as only this party has a glorious track-record of standing by poor, downtrodden and underprivileged and other sections of the society, Bhardwaj cautioned them to remain wary of the BJP's diversionary tactics aimed at deflecting attention from their utter failure on all fronts.
Bhardwaj wondered as to how senior Union Ministers including a former army chief have come campaigning in DDC elections which are being held at block level. "Does that reflect a panic reaction on BJP's part?" he asked.
Among others present on the occasion were Krishan Chand Saini Ex-Inspector, Diwan Chand Khajuria, Rulda Ram, Sub Vijay Kumar, Ashu Sharma, Rajinder Sharma and many others.
