Law Deptt of JU plays with career of students | Deliberately avoids terminal semesters examination of students having backlog | | Rajesh Tandon
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 26: The Law Department of Jammu University has allegedly played with the career of its students particularly those whose backlog exams of Semester 2 and 4 were not conducted by the department spoiling their one year. Sources told Early Times that the Law Department issued notice on 24-9-2020 of holding exams for various semesters. As per guidelines examination is to be conducted within 30 days of the notification but due to carelessness of the Head of the Department, it took two months to complete the examination process. In this entire process, the department didn’t take exams of students having backlog in Semester 2 and 4 due to which now they will have to wait for the next year. “All these exams were to be conducted online; even exams of Semester- 6 were conducted,” they added. Law Department violated the notification of Dean Academic Affairs JU regarding conduct of examination wherein it was clearly mentioned that the students of the terminal semester having backlog of previous semesters shall be evaluated by conducting examinations by the Nodal Departments as per the above mentioned procedure. Although students approached the HoD regarding this problem but the head of the department refused to hear their grievances. Pertinently the HoD Law Department JU had already been facing sexual harassment cases and various inquires were set up on this issue. |
