Army extends helping hand in Ramban’s snow- bound areas, distributes ration, medical kits | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 9: The Indian Army on Wednesday extended helping hand to the people by distributing ration and medical kits in snow-bound areas of Ramban district in Jammu and Kashmir. Udhampur based Defence PRO, Lt Col Abhinav Navneet here said that amidst the global pandemic, the Indian Army unit in Ramban district carried out distribution of Ration and Medical kits to 350 families residing in the areas of Sumbar, Dagnari, Banj, Bajon and Malpatti in consonance with the Indian Army's program "Corona Mukt Awam". He said that the kit contains basic essential day to day needs of the people residing in remote and higher reaches of Ramban District. At present the local Awaam residing in these areas are deprived of basic facilities due to remoteness of location and rugged terrain. Lack of road connectivity catalyses COVID-19 environment and makes it difficult for the 'Awaam' to make their ends meet. The Ration Kit comprised of Dal, Rice, Atta and Cooking Oil and Medical Kits included soap, Reusable face mask, and Sanitizer. "The event was well received by the locals and expressed their gratitude to men in Uniform for carrying the same to higher reaches and distributing them," he added. He further said that the Sarpanches and local Awaam thanked Indian Army for the noble gesture and urged the Indian Army for more such projects in future. |
