Some shift families to other states, foreign countries | Kashmir centric leaders mulling to leave Valley | | Early Times Report jammu, Dec 13: After the abrogation of Article 370, Kashmir centric leaders are struggling to make their presence felt and a few of them have reportedly decided to shift their families out of the Valley. Sources told Early Times that these leaders have realized that their political careers have ended and its better for them to move out of Kashmir. "Many political leaders during their hey days had purchased properties in other states as well as the foreign countries. After August 5, 2019, these leaders have realized that time has come for them to move on and they are doing so," they added. An observer said that most of the Kashmir centric politicians have purchased huge properties in other states as well as in the foreign countries and it's an "open secret." "These leaders moving out of Kashmir is no big deal as they are aware of the fact that they have become irrelevant now and they have not been left with anything to fall back upon as far their political careers are concerned," the observer added. A politician said, "If J&K continues to remain a Union Territory, politicians will have no major role to play and they will be no better than the second fiddles. The veteran leaders are aware of this fact that's why they are not taking any keen interest in the ongoing political developments taking place in J&K." He said, "National Conference president Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah despite being the top leaders of the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) have not taken any interest in the ongoing District Development Council (DDC) elections. These leaders know it very well that power won't wrest with them till J&K's statehood is restored. If J&K continues to function as the Union Territory the politicians, who used to call shots in the past, will have no role to play in decision making." The politician said that if leaders are shifting their families to other states or other countries "what's the big deal" about it. "Its' not unlawful to move to some other place," the politician added. |
