Jammu, Dec 22: The development plank finally paid to the Saffron Brigade and the Lotus bloomed in three border districts of Jammu region with BJP winning 35 seats out of total 42, Bahujan Samaj Party and the National Conference winning one each while the counting for rest of the Territorial Constituencies was in progress. As per the official data provided by the Chief Electoral Office of Jammu and Kashmir, the Bhartiya Janata Party in the three border districts almost made a clean sweep by defeating its rivals like National Conference, Indian National Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party and others. Moreover, the three border districts of Jammu region, Jammu, Samba and Kathua, having a maximum population of farmers’ community gave a huge mandate to the BJP despite ongoing agitation against the Farmers Acts. In Jammu District, BJP has won eight seats out of total 14 Territorial Constituencies and National Conference bagged one. Moreover, in Kathua district, out of total 14, BJP has won 13 and one seat is won by the BSP candidate from Nagri Territorial Constituency. Similarly, in Samba district as well, it was a clean sweep for BJP except for one seat of Bari Brahmana Territorial Constituency won by the National Conference. The counting on five Constituencies in Jammu district was still in progress. |
