SRINAGAR, Dec 23: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 95.45 percent today after 338 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. The union territory reported 250 new positive cases following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 19,053. The death toll reached 1853 following three deaths in past 24 hours. Jammu district in the Jammu division reported 98 new cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 49 cases, Budgam district 17 cases, Baramulla district 14 cases, Pulwama district 13 cases, Rajouri district 10 cases, Udhampur district eight cases, Kupwara district seven cases, Ganderbal district six cases, Doda, Samba and Ramban districts five cases each, Bandipora, Shopian and Kathua districts three cases each, Kulgam district two cases and Anantnag & Kishtwar districts one case each. Kupwara and Bandipora districts in the Kashmir reported a fresh COVID-19 death followed by a death in Jammu district in the Jammu division. So far 1,171 people have lost their lives to the Corona Virus in the Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 682. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 250 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 135 from Jammu division and 115 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 19,053. Also three COVID-19 deaths have been reported; one from Jammu division and two from Kashmir division. Moreover, 338 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 139 from Jammu division and 199 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 19,053 positive cases, 3,555 are active positive, 1, 13,645 have recovered and 1,853 have died; 682 in Jammu division and 1,171 in Kashmir division. Out of 36, 09,605 test results available, 34, 90,552 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 55,949 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 19,919 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 3,555 in isolation and 27,573 in home surveillance. Besides, 8, 03,049 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,865 positive cases, 654 active positive, 23,768 recovered, 443 deaths; Baramulla has 7,880 positive cases, 152 active positive, 7,558 recovered, 170 deaths; Budgam has 7,471 positive cases, 185 active positive, 7180 recovered, 106 deaths; Kupwara has 5,464 positive cases, 144 active positive, 5,230 recovered, 90 deaths; Pulwama has 5,453 positive cases, 165 active positive, 5,200 recovered, 88 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,749 positive cases, 115 active Positive, 4,552 recovered, 82 deaths; Bandipora has 4,620 positive cases, 84 active positive, 4,477 recovered, 59 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,437 positive cases, 104 active positive, 4,290 recovered, 43 deaths; Kulgam has 2,646 positive cases, 67 active positive, 2,526 recovered, 53 deaths and Shopian has 2,465 positive cases, 86 active positive, 2,342 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 23,149 positive cases, 860 active positive, 21,942 recovered, 347 deaths; Udhampur has 4,045 positive cases, 120 active positive, 3,868 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,797 positive cases, 223 active positive, 3,520 recovered, 54 deaths; Doda has 3,353 positive cases, 87 active positive, 3,205 recovered, 61 deaths; Kathua has 3,124 positive cases, 79 active positive, 2,997 recovered, 48 deaths. “Kishtwar has 2,711 positive cases, 76 active positive, 2,614 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2700 positive cases, 234 active positive, 2,429 recovered, 37 deaths; Poonch has 2,436 positive cases, 29 active positive, 2,385 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,077 positive cases, 30 active positive, 2,026 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,611 positive cases, 61 active positive, 1,536 recovered, 14 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 19,053 positive cases, 11,161 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
