| DLSA,Forest Deptt conducts plantation drive under Green J&K | | |  Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Dec 23: Continuing with the plantation in winter areas of Jammu and Kashmir to increase green cover,the District Legal Service Authority(DLSA) Ramban in collaboration with the Forest Division,Batote today conducted a plantation drive under its ‘Green J&K’ campaign at Jangi Morh in Batote today.
The plantation drive primarily aimed to increase green cover was inaugurated by Madan Lal,Sub Judge/Chairman,Tehsil Legal Service Authority Batote.
The drive was started with a plantation of Kail saplings in Compartment 14/BTT of Batote Forest Division. The plantation drive was duly supervised by Sat Paul IFS Conservator of Chenab Circle,Doda who emphasized for planting of local species already existing in the area.
He also impressed upon the field functionaries to work with dedication and to identify such areas for plantation which are prone to erosion, landslides and already degraded.
Others who participated in plantation drive included advocates P. B. Katoch Mohammed Shamoon ,Range Forest Officer Batote, SS Chib,Block officers and battery of forest field functionaries. |
