The high voting percentage in these polls is a clear reflection that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have great faith in grassroots democracy. The people of Jammu and Kashmir who turned up in high numbers at polling booths deserve all apprecipation,” Sharma said while expressing happiness over peaceful conduct of polling and counting of votes across the UT. The AJKPC leader said that they campaigned for 10 days in Kashmir Valley after the filing of nomination papers by different candidates and made a fervent appeal to the people that they should vote for genuine and deserving candidates. He also assured all the winning DDC members, Sarpanches and Panches that the AJKPC would continue to fight for the issues confronting them. “Without any compromise, we will fight for various issues of DDCs, BDCs, Sarpanches and Panches including infrastructure, accomodation, security, salary and others,” he said. |
