Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 31: After finalisation of ILS procedure by Indian Air Force, new Instrument Landing System has been commissioned here at Jammu Airport by Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Thursday. The ground and air calibrations were already completed on November 11, 2020, by the Flight Inspection Unit (FIU) unit of AAI. It is to mention here that the ILS was withdrawn during the month of March-2019 due to extension of the runway at Belicharana side. The present ILS system is a new upgraded version of the previous one. It will be catering visibility of 800 metres. With the present arrangement of Category- approach lighting system. Dr PR Beuria, Airport Director, said, " the new ILS system shall be useful for aircraft operation during fog and poor visibility condition and a great relief to the passengers. |
