Vijaypur, Jan 19: The flute is one of the most popular instruments in the band. It has a beautiful mellow tone and is a lead instrument, often carrying the melody.
To help students to learn flute, GDC Vijaypur collaborated with Naadvenu Flute classes, Mumbai to conduct online National level Flute workshop in which the facilitator was Akash Suryawanshi (disciple of Surmani Vivek Sonar).
According to him, it’s important to learn how to make a good tone on the headjoint before trying to add the keys of the flute.
Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College thanked the participants and the resource person for making the workshop a grand success and exhorted that it provided an opportunity for youth to grow musically immersing them in a challenging yet a positive and supportive environment with other like-minded, passionate young musicians challenging them to dive deep into flute repertoire and extended techniques, intonation, scales and arpeggios.
