Jammu police martyr cricket tournament concludes | | | Early Times Report
RS Pura, Jan 21: Jammu Police in Miransahib concluded its Martyr cricket tournament amid pump and show. Day and night cricket tournament was started in November last year in Simbal Cricket ground and was concluded on Wednesday in a thrilling final match. 32 teams from all over Jammu participated on knock out basis in this tournament which was played in the the memory of Martyrs who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. Final match was played between Bakshinagar Eleven and Simbal Stars which was won by Simbhal Stars by 31 runs. Batting first Simbal scored 94 runs in 15 overs. Chasing the target Bakshinagar Eleven were all out for 63 runs. Concluding match was attended by SP Head quarters Adil Hamid Raja, Jammu along with SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan , SHO Miran Sahib Har Mohinder Singh, BDC Chairman Miran Sahib Dalip Kumar , sarpanches of the area and respectable of the area amid a gathering of thousand audience. Winning team was given a cash Prize of 51000 while runner up team was awarded with a cash prize of 26000.Man of the match and man of the series was grabbed by Sourav. Martyrs families of the area were called up and were honoured. Inhabitants of Simbal were thankful to Jammu Police for this initiative and demanded more such tournaments and activities for the youth in order to channelise their energy in a positive direction. |
