JAMMU, Jan 28: Solving the theft case of the service weapon of a Police Officer, Bakshi Nagar Police have recovered the stolen Pistol and arrested the thief.
According to sources, on January 21, a complaint regarding service weapon theft was lodged in Police Post Sarwal by ASI Ali Mohd Wani of JKAP 7th Bn presently posted at Manwal (Sangar). The complainant told the Police that he kept his service weapon in a briefcase at his rental house at New Plot and when he came back from market, he found his briefcase broken up and the weapon was missing.
"In this regard, case FIR No. 17/2021 U/s 454/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar, Jammu. Under the supervision of SP North P D Nitya, a Police team led by SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Manjeet Singh started an all-round investigation using all the possible means and led to rounding up of suspect namely Ranjeet Singh alias Raju son of Balbir Singh resident of New Plot Jammu", Police sources said, adding that during sustained questioning, the suspect confessed his involvement in the said case.
"Upon his disclosure stolen service weapon (Pistol) along with 9mm 35 cartages were recovered.
Further investigation is going on to ascertain their involvement in any other case", the sources said. |
