SED lecturers blame higher-ups for depriving them of administrative positions | Hundreds of teachers engaged on incharge capacity | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: The lecturers of the School Education Department have accused the higher ups of depriving them to get their rightful share in administrative positions of the department. Sources told Early Times that there is a great disparity between in-position strength and sanctioned posts as considerable number of Joint Directors and equivalents, Chief Education Officers and equivalents, principals and lecturers have been deputed to Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, Samagra Shiksha and other offices on different assignments without actual creation of posts thereby leading to a loss of considerable period of service rendered in incharge capacity at the time of regularization. They said that although other departments are considering the reservation in posts but the similar demand for creation of 10 to 25 percent deputation/reserve posts in the School Education Department has not even been thought about. “There are vacant positions of Joint Directors, over 22 vacancies of CEOs/DIET Principals, and more than 250 vacant positions of Principals of Higher Secondary Schools in J&K. Shockingly the Joint Directors have not been adjusted even after the lapse of more than three months of their promotion order and non-availability of even a single Regularized Principal for promotion as CEO and equivalent,” they added. They further said that the due to non regularisation of principals since 2013 the promotion list of CEOs and equivalents and promotion list of principals and placement list of senior lecturers has been pending since 2013 as per one-third cadre strength of lecturers according to SRO 481. |
