SRINAGAR, Jan 31: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir has achieved significant progress in tackling the Corona Virus crisis as the percentage of active cases has dropped to 0.58 percent. With 57 new cases the number of positive cases reached 124506 with no being reported from seven districts. Srinagar reported 27 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district seven cases, Ganderbal district five cases, Baramulla, Anantnag and Doda districts three cases each, Budgam and Udhampur districts two cases each and Pulwama, Kupwara, Kulgam, Kishtwar & Ramban districts one case each. Bandipora, Shopian, Rajouri, Kathua, Samba, Poonch and Reasi districts reported no fresh case. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 57 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 14 from Jammu division and 43 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 24,506. Moreover, 70 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 36 from Jammu division and 34 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 24,506 positive cases, 721 are active positive, 1, 21,822 have recovered and 1,936 have died; 721 in Jammu division and 1,215 in Kashmir division. Out of 45, 44,387 test results available, 44, 19,881 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 11, 23,009 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34,203 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 748 in isolation and 97,734 in home surveillance. Besides, 9, 88,388 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,212 positive cases, 237 active positive, 25,519 recovered, 456 deaths; Baramulla has 8,118 positive cases, 44 active positive, 7,900 recovered, 174 deaths; Budgam has 7,768 positive cases, 37 active positive, 7,614 recovered, 117 deaths; Pulwama has 5,720 positive cases, 49 active positive, 5,583 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,659 positive cases, 31 active positive, 5,533 recovered, 95 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,903 positive cases, 56 active positive, 4,762 recovered, 85 deaths; Bandipora has 4,692 positive cases, 24 active positive, 4,607 recovered, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,616 positive cases, 52 active positive, 4,518 recovered, 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2,695 positive cases, 25 active positive, 2,616 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,570 positive cases, 25 active positive, 2,506 recovered, 39 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 24,964 positive cases, 83 active positive, 24,510 recovered, 371 deaths; Udhampur has 4,203 positive cases, 24 active positive, 4,122 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,868 positive cases, four active positive, 3,809 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,432 positive cases, four active positive, 3,364 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,254 positive cases, three active positive, 3,199 recovered, 52 deaths. “Samba has 2,830 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,776 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,732 positive cases, one active positive, 2,709 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,500 positive cases, 32 active positive, 2,444 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,132 positive cases, two active positive, 2,109 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,638 positive cases, one active positive, 1,622 recovered, 15 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 24,506 positive cases in J&K, 11,693 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
