Polio vaccination camp held in Ward No 9 | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 31: In line with the national Polio Immunisation programme, a Polio vaccination camp was organised at ward number 9 of Jammu today where polio drops were administered to the children eligible for it. The three-day Polio vaccination drive will continue till 2 February at the ward. Speaking to media persons, Suneet Raina, Councilor of Ward number 9 said that the polio vaccination camp took off early Sunday morning and the vaccination drive will continue till February 2. “Polio drops will be given to kids in the age group of 0 to 5 years as part of the drive of the government to sustain polio-free status of the country,” he said, adding that many Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), World Health Organisation, UNICEF, Rotary, and lakhs of volunteers are supporting this drive which has been launched in the entire country. Raina appealed to the people of his ward to ensure that their children who are in the age group of 0 to 5 years are administered the vaccination so that India can continue its polio-free status. “Even if you have administered the polio drops to your kids earlier, you must get them vaccinated now also,” he added. The Counselor maintained that the Polio drive is being held in adherence to Covid-19 protocol and guidelines. It is mandatory to maintain physical distance, to wear masks and wash hands during the activity, he added. |
