COVID-19 recovery rate in JK reaches 97.90%; 44 new cases, two fresh deaths | Positive cases 125594, active positive 668, recovered 121988, casualties 1938 | | JEHANGIR RASHID EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Feb 2: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 97.90 percent as 83 more patients recovered today. The positive cases reached 1, 24,594 with 44 new cases; death toll reached 1,938 with two deaths being reported from Kashmir valley in the past 24 hours. Srinagar district reported 12 new cases followed by Ganderbal district nine cases, Jammu district eight cases, Pulwama district five cases, Baramulla, Anantnag and Samba districts two cases each and Budgam, Kulgam, Udhampur & Poonch districts one case each. No fresh case was reported from Kupwara, Bandipora, Shopian, Rajouri, Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar, Ramban & Reasi districts. Srinagar and Budgam districts in the Kashmir valley reported a fresh Corona Virus death while no death came to the fore from Jammu division. So far 1,217 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while in Jammu division 712 such deaths have taken place up to this date. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 44 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 12 from Jammu division and 32 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 24,594. Also two COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Kashmir division. Moreover, 83 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 33 from Jammu division and 50 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 24,594 positive cases, 668 are active positive, 1, 21,988 have recovered and 1,938 have died; 721 in Jammu division and 1,217 in Kashmir division. Out of 45, 80,204 test results available, 44, 55,610 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 11, 34,200 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34,379 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 668 in isolation and 1, 01,506 in home surveillance. Besides, 9, 95,709 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,239 positive cases, 212 active positive, 25,570 recovered, 457 deaths; Baramulla has 8,121 positive cases, 40 active positive, 7,907 recovered, 174 deaths; Budgam has 7,772 positive cases, 30 active positive, 7,624 recovered, 118 deaths; Pulwama has 5,729 positive cases, 47 active positive, 5,594 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,662 positive cases, 28 active positive, 5,539 recovered, 95 deaths. "Anantnag has 4,907 positive cases, 51 active positive, 4,771 recovered, 85 deaths; Bandipora has 4,693 positive cases, 18 active positive, 4,614 recovered, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,628 positive cases, 55 active positive, 4,527 recovered, 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2,697 positive cases, 25 active positive, 2,618 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,573 positive cases, 26 active positive, 2,508 recovered, 39 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 24,979 positive cases, 60 active positive, 24,549 recovered, 371 deaths; Udhampur has 4,204 positive cases, 19 active positive, 4,128 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,868 positive cases, two active positive, 3,811 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,432 positive cases, four active positive, 3,364 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,254 positive cases, three active positive, 3,199 recovered, 52 deaths. "Samba has 2,832 positive cases, 16 active positive, 2,776 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,732 positive cases, one active positive, 2,709 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,501 positive cases, 27 active positive, 2,450 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,133 positive cases, three active positive, 2,109 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,638 positive cases, one active positive, 1,622 recovered, 15 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 24,594 positive cases in J&K, 11,712 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
