Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 2: A senior BJP leader, claimed to be ultra-nationalist, is assiduously trying to arrange plum positing for a ‘tainted’ police officer, who allegedly played dubious role during the infamous Kishtwar riots.
Reliable sources told The Early Times, a so-called ‘hardcore’ BJP has written a ‘DO’ letter in which he has sought very important and lucrative positing for a police officer. The post, for which BJP leader has written the letter, is considered as very lucrative and sensitive.
“The said police officer is already under scanner for his dubious role during infamous Kishtwar during which properties of minority community were burnt to ashes”, sources said and added that the probe panel constituted by the then state government had also pointed figure towards role of that police officer. “Although findings of the panel, constituted to probe Kishtwar riots, are yet to be made public, it is widely alleged that the same officer had given free hand to the rioters during the riots”, sources said, adding, “Some victims of the riots had also charged the same officer with not protecting them during riots”.
Shockingly the inquiry panel had quoted many eye-witnesses to expose role of this officer in allegedly allowing rioters to attack properties of a particular community, the BJP leader is lobbying for lucrative post for the same officer.
Before 2014, the same BJP leader was considered as ultra-nationalist known for protecting rights of the people. But BJP became part of the power, the same leader has started the job of lobbying for tainted and controversial officers.
This is not an isolated case, most of the BJP leaders have been lobbying for tainted police officers due to reasons best known to them.
