CEO Rajouri pleads fairness in selection of best teacher on Republic Day | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Feb 2: Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has rejected allegations that he facilitated a teacher so that he could be awarded on the Republic Day. The CEO while referring to a story published in this regard in the February 2 edition of Early Times said that the teacher is not related to him in any manner. “The reality is that undersigned asked all the 15 Zonal Education officers of this District to submit the files/cases of Best teachers for Award-one from each zone related to COVID-19. They had submitted the files to a committee comprising five Principals at CEO Level i.e 13 files at Zonal level and three at District Level,” said the CEO. The CEO said the committee further selected/recommended five teachers who had worked during COVID-19 restrictions and submitted to the district level screening cum Selection Committee. The District level Committee has selected only one teacher out of five for Award. “It is pertinent to mention here that none of the teachers selected for Best teacher award is in any relation to me. However they actually worked during COVID-19 pandemic for the welfare of the student community. As the class work remained suspended and there were no other parameters to assess the Annual achievement of the teacher,” said the CEO. |
