Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 20: With the opening of Sheetalnath temple after a gap of 31 years in Srinagar for prayers by the devotees several Kashmiri Pandit families voluntarily seems to be eagar to celebrate this Maha Shivratri festival at their native places in Srinagar and other districts of the valley ,sources said here today. "We were pinning high hopes that at least Modi led BJP government at the centre will definitely rehabilitate migrant Kashmiri Pandits in the valley as they have been living there since centuries before the migration that took place in 1989-90", said a sixty year old Bansi Lal,who originally hails from a village in district Anantnag,adding but to the much of our surprise the present regime did nothing on ground in our favour so far,he added.So we therefore,have made our minds to celebrate this Maha Shivratri festival at our native places in the valley voluntarily and exclusively of our own,said another migrant of Jagti colony. With the opening of Sheetalnath temple after 31 years in Kralkhud,Srinagar by the KP biradari and performing Hawan pooja there recently has encouraged other people also so several migrant KP families from Jammu have been evincing their keen interest to celebrate this Maha Shivratri festival at their native places in valley said social activist Sunil Pandita who is likely going to lead the families to Kashmir, while talking to Early Times here today. Sunil Pandita,who originally hails from a village in district Kupwara ,said "we will leave for Srinagar on March 5, from Jammu and drive straight way to our respective areas therefrom same day.As the Shivratri festival falls on March 10,we will be having enough time to make necessary preparations and participate in other rituals related with the Maha Shivratri festival there, he added. Sunil also urged the administration of Jammu and Kashmir union territory to provide community members adequate transport facility during to and fro journey besides other facilities. |
