Mayor distributes dustbins | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 20: With a view to maintain better sanitation and hygiene in the market of the Jammu City and also to stop disposal of garbage & other waste materials on roads, Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation in presence of Yash Paul Sharma Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee, Jeet Kumar Councillor of ward no. 12 distributed about 200 dustbins among the shopkeepers of Canal road area under "Swacch Bharat Mission" S. Hardeep Singh I/c Sanitation Officer, Hira Lal Khajuria, Vijay Kumar Sanitary Inspectors, Bansi Lal Sanitary Supervisor and other field staff of Health Section of JMC as well as representatives of Canal road shopkeepers association remained present during the function which was held in a very simple manner. Mayor appealed to the shopkeepers, hoteliers and other businessman not to throw garbage waste on roads, public lanes & corners of the city and handover the same only to the designated vehicles of JMC which have been kept exclusively for this purpose and also make people aware of the fine and penalties to be imposed on defaulters and violators as per municipal Bylaws for littering and open dumping of garbage including construction & demolishing (C&D) waste etc. The market association assured the JMC Mayor that they will provide full cooperation to them for maintaining sanitation upto the satisfactory level. Mayor appeal the general public to come forward and join hands with JMC & other allied departments so that the aim of Swachh Bharat Mission can be achieved and assured the citizens of the city that no stone shall be remained unturned in providing better sanitation facilities. |
