DDC chairperson Kishtwar outlines developmental agenda
Warns power project managements over denying jobs to locals

JAMMU, Feb 24: The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Kishtwar said that the department will remain the main focus for her, adding that there is dire need to expedite the pace of developmental activities.
In an exclusive interview with Early Times, DDC Chairperson Kishtwar, Pooja Bhandari said that her prime focus would be on education and health sector. Bhandari warned the power project managements including CVPPL against denying jobs to the local unemployed youths.
She said that the condition of the schools in rural areas of Kishtwar District viz Marwah, Warwan, Dachhan, Bhunzwah, Paddar, Nagsini and other areas is worst condition and said that the teachers should focused on their duties added that absenteeism culture will be delated with iron hands.
“Let me tell one thing to employees to attend their duties. Government is not paying you for sitting at home. You can take it as an advice or a warning,” Pooja said.
She said “Communication will be the key to check attendance in government offices. For that we will try to ensure communication in every nook and corner of the District including Marwah sub Division,” adding that by the month of July 2021 they are expecting mobile connectivity in rural areas of Kishtwar District.
She said that her priority will be to take everyone on board to carry forward agenda of development forward and laid stress for strengthening of basic health infrastructure in rural areas of Kishtwar District.
“Let me clarify that we will not allow power project managements to deny job opportunities to local unemployed youths. We are all united on this issue irrespective of political affiliations” Pooja added that in case power project managements fail to absorb local unemployed youths in under construction power projects in Kishtwar Districts, she will sit on protest along with local unemployed youths.
She said that there is immediate need to start work on construction of Singpura-Viloo tunnel announced by the union minister Nitin Gadkari few months ago and laid stress for construction of Chanjer-Bounda tunnel that will provide all weather road connectivity to unconnected areas of Marwah sub Division.
She said that like Kashmir, eeriest while Doda District including Kishtwar could become the hub of horticulture activities added that she had already started exploring it in her area and said that similar initiatives will be taken in other areas of District Kishtwar.
She also laid stress for joint synergy between Panches, Sarpanches, BDCs & DDCs for implementation of various government schemes on ground.
She said that the government has given an opportunity to women by giving them the reservation and called upon all the elected women to take this opportunity forward and utilised the same for the welfare of the people.
“I am available for the welfare of the general public 24X7. Let people feel free to call me any time as and when they need my help,” Pooja Bhandari concluded and made a passionate appeal to the employees to help her in reaching out to the public with various government run schemes to be implemented on ground.
