Avoid Errors, Omissions
3/2/2021 11:30:32 PM
During the past few months Jammu and Kashmir administration has expedited the recruitment process and the recruitment agencies have been asked not to waste time. The departments have been directed to forward the posts to Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), premiere recruitment agency of the union territory. But there seems to be hiccups which are not allowing the things to move smoothly.
Recently it came to fore that the Higher Education Department forwarded more than 300 posts to the JKPSC without finalizing the recruitment rules. The process had to be put on hold to finalize the modalities.
There have been some instances in the past where the recruitment process has been put on hold due to the departments not completing the required procedure. The departments create a notion that it’s the JKPSC that is delaying the process but the fact is that the JKPSC is not to be blamed as it cannot go ahead till all the formalities are completed. Since the day Manoj Sinha has taken over as the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir many things have changed. Besides development projects more and more avenues are being created for youth. The new job avenues and a push being given to fill the vacant posts have generated hope among the youngsters about the tough days being over. The government departments should ensure that youth don’t get disillusioned by the delay that is being caused. The teething troubles need to be taken care of at the very outset so that the recruitment process is carried out smoothly.
The former political regimes in Jammu and Kashmir just gave lolly-pops to the youth vis-à-vis employing them. The dispensations in the past failed miserably to engage the youth. The recruitment scams had become a routine as after every drive skeletons used to tumble. The deserving were ignored and influential candidates managed to sneak in.
After J&K’s transition into a union territory the system has changed as the recruitment process has become transparent. The recently held written exams for the class-IV posts are an indication that no one will be allowed to enter through a backdoor.
The changes that are taking place are welcome developments but the helmsmen have to ensure that pace is maintained and unnecessary errors are rectified. The recruitment process has to move on without running into a rough weather.
